The following are the most recent results of the American Association of Individual Investors (“AAII”) Weekly Sentiment Survey.  The most recent weekly period included in the graph represents the period from January 27, 2010  to February 3 , 2010.  Bearish sentiment at 43.1% has been increasing since December 31, 2009 and has reached its highest level since November 5, 2009.  Meanwhile, bullish sentiment has been more volatile, but is currently at 29.2%, which is its lowest level since November 5, 2009.  Furthermore, neutral sentiment is currently at 27.7%.  In general, the sentiments of individual investors appears to be shifting from indecisive last week to to bearish.  Current volume and price action in the market would support the bearish sentiment being displayed in the chart.  The AAII has been tracking investor sentiment since 1987.  Currently, the results are collected from the AAII’s website.  Please click the graph to view it at full size.
